“Un spectacle écrit par Lorenzo Valera , joué et chanté par Séline Séline Gülgönen (vocals, clarinette, clarinette basse), Laila Sage (vocals, récit) et Lorenzo Valera (vocals, récit, guitare, accordéon)
“Episode 1 de l’Unité d’Italie (1861) au régicide d’Umberto I (1900)
Dans ce spectacle mêlant récits, chants et musique, nous vous ferons découvrir une autre histoire de l’Italie, méconnue, et entendre d’autres voix : celles des brigands méridionaux et de leur guerre enragée contre le nouvel Etat ; celles des paysans et des ouvriers agricoles, des travailleurs des carrières de marbre de Toscane, des mineurs de soufre de Sicile ; les voix fières et impertinentes que l’on pouvait en- tendre dans les rizières ; celles des émigrés qui, après des décennies de défaites, allaient poursuivre leur rêve de justice dans d’autres terres.
Quarante années de révoltes, de rébellions, d’illusions destinées à briser la fureur répressive d’un Etat qui punit impudemment les justes et récompense les assassins… Un coassement de grenouilles lointain mais persistant, refusant de se taire devant les fanfares sonores du pouvoir.”

Le compositeur franco-grec Alexandros Markeas offre to la mémoire des migrants qui ont péri en Méditerranée une sorte d’anti-Odyssée, un poignant hommage musical mêlant sa propre création to quelques-unes des plus somptueuses musiques de la Renaissance (Gesualdo, Monteverdi et de Victoria), ainsi que des musiques traditionnelles du bassin méditerranéen. Le compositeur recrée une Méditerranée intemporelle où les plaintes d’hier et d’aujourd’hui s’unissent en un unique chant funèbre. Interprètes incontournables du répertoire de la Renaissance, les chanteurs de la Main Harmonique prêtent leurs voix to cette élégie, qui donne to entendre la subtile alliance de la viole de gambe et du saxophone. En guise de narration, des images et les textes du poète Erri de Luca révèlent une Méditerranée aussi lumineuse que funèbre. Depuis une embarcation perdue au milieu de la scène, les voix, métamorphosées, circulent to travers un dispositif de haut-parleurs, et se noient dans les tumultes de la Méditerranée.

“Avant, c’était les “macaronis”. On était les seuls étrangers à l’époque. Je me souviens du racisme dans la rue, dans la cour d’école, dans les magasins. On me disait : “retourne dans ton pays”, je me battais. Mes copains de classe ne m’invitaient pas chez eux, je ne les invitais pas chez nous.

About the artwork

Venice, its Carnival and its masks are undoubtedly the ideal setting of gallant scenes, of the romantic twist and, more widely, festivities of any kind. With its Fêtes galantes, the Aachen André Campra composer broke the heavy legacy of the lullyste mode and has succeeded in developing a new lyric genre, sort of total show of before mingling in a Merry fairy chant and dance arts.
These "comedies-ballets"., whose Venetian festivals is one of the first and most brilliant examples, alternated scenes and stories no real link between them, for the simple happiness of the eyes and ears. The love intrigues to succeed in a gallant spirit that remains forever linked in our minds to that of the age of enlightenment.
With, musical direction and staging, two of the biggest names in opera today, William Christie and Robert Carsen, This production will continue an international career since we find it at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York.

But before... and as soon as this weekend, Toulouse will discover, see or review it "Italians"., When the emigrants was we !"since on an initiative of CRAN-MP (Representative Council are Associations Noires de Midi-Pyrénées), It will be proposed, Saturday night at the Mazades theatre.

Superb choral fresco which revisits

the Italian migration epic, "Italians"., When the emigrants was we !"is interpreted, under the direction of Rocco Femia, by twenty-five choristers, eight musicians who take over fifteen traditional songs and popular Italian and Bruno Putzulu, Narrator, who plays this great story.

In the background, videos, photos and images, testify to what, with 27 million migrants, remains to this day the largest exodus of people in modern history.

“Carnevale di Venezia”, competition in Piazza San Marco. The best mask!

They started from Scicli to Venice to celebrate Carnival and triumphed in the expected competition that takes place in Piazza San Marco: "The best mask". Have embellished their parade with the scent of orange blossoms, other Sicilian element that left no doubt to the jury.
The costumes were made in Singapore: Red Velvet cloth inserts pheasant feathers and inspired by the most beautiful decorations of the art of Sicilian carts.
On the sleeves of the dress it portrays the Madonna delle Milizie, Patroness of Scicli.

OUBOUNTOU, is a word of Bantu origin used in many African languages. There equivalent in any other language of no other continent.
It translates : “I am what I am thanks to what we are all, humans “. It symbolizes the unity of the human race in its diversity.
In the context of the implementation of the OUBOUNTOU project 2016, whose central theme is the 'living together', the CRAN-MP appealed to GRUPPO INCANTO in order to offer the show "Italians"., When the emigrants was we ! ».
A prestigious room which has a meaning for GRUPPO INCANTO special because it is precisely in the Theatre of the Mazades that we started our adventure there is 4 years with this spectcale. It is for all these reasons that we invite you to the 20 February to celebrate first all the Oubountou of our African friends and relive a moment of friendship.
