Meeting with Antonio Moresco Tuesday 3 February 2015 from 18:00 to 20:00 around its work: ” The little light”, published by Éditions Verdier. / Librairie Ombres Blanches.

Antonio Moresco was born in Mantua in 1947. Major figure in the contemporary narrative prose, It is without doubt one of the most inspired and the most delicate of Italian literature writers. Over the years 90, He has published numerous novels, News, plays and tests including Milanese editions Mondadori.

"I came here to disappear., in this abandoned and deserted hamlet which I am the only inhabitant. The Sun has just fade away behind the ridge line. The light goes. At this time, I am sitting a few meters from my little house, facing a steep plant. Watching the world about to be engulfed by the darkness. »

We shall know with precision what flees the narrator of the little light, probably the contemporary urban world, his disorder, its dissonances, probably also a weariness, a more intimate and more secret distress.
When the novel opens, It is already there, lonely and attentive, immersed in this landscape of mountains and forests including the night, falling, fade little by little the contours. Anchoress without faith and hope, disoriented, hitched or almost while this sheet of shadow falls down upon him and the space around, "... I breath., as if I chutais sitting on a swing on strings laid down some infinitely distant place in the universe". One foot in the novel, Another fable, serious and circumspect while he stands in this posture of balancing act, thus appears Antonio Moresco, The small light is the first book translated a large bibliography than this thin story, If he has set an example, Lets imagine all meditative and an impressive force.
The feature of Moresco is net, secure, meticulous, While it deploys its plot : a man immersed in a nature that proves to be chaotic, frantic, oppressive as the city and the crowd that he has quit ; solitude inhabited by the omnipresence of the animal world teeming in the sky and in the undergrowth ; peace and silence shortly broken by tremors that make the Earth tremble, the conversation of the swallows, the swarming of insects, fireflies and small raptors which abound in the foliage, the tug-of-war between between them plants for the occupation of space and, in the thick soil, the invisible and tireless alteration process, decomposition and renaissance which is life. […] Antonio Moresco does not answer. It merely to offer reading this metaphysical novel of striking beauty, This sensual and restless Elegy, as an irrigated fable, in its untouchable depths, by a meditation on man's place in the universe. » Nathalie Crom, Télérama

Gianrico Carofiglio (Bari 1961)

Non esiste saggezza e a di libro Gianrico Carofiglio Edito da Rizzoli nel 2010. A set of stories that leave from daily life, faces crossed, and that lead the reader on a journey to the end of the deepest emotions.

The stories of “Non esiste saggezza” have the daily reality for decor : They tell faces that emerge from the crowd of travellers in neutral transit zones. Most of the faces of women : with the latter, the voice of the Narrator is benevolent, fraternal and protective, as if he wanted to share the weight of painful secrets. Dans ce livre Carofiglio dote d'un nom les ombres et les peurs. Il en fait des compagnons de voyage, d'un voyage qui va jusqu ' aux confins des émotions les plus profondes et les plus sincères.

In this short novel, written a few years ago on the occasion of the festival of Maxentius, Gianrico Carofiglio tells of meeting that takes place in Amsterdam airport between an unusual policeman and a fugitive girl with a secret to hide; to draw attention to him on the beautiful unknown will be a book that she keeps in her womb and that he recognizes as a text by Anna Akhmatova that she read her mother many years before, they still remember a verse: “wisdom does not exist, There is no age, and maybe even death”.

A story about the meeting and then lost immediately after, but really not miss ever.

The tales of “Non esiste saggezza” originate from the places of everyday life: are faces that emerge from the crowd of travelers, neutral transit areas. Especially, women figures: with them, the voice of the Narrator is involved, integral, protective, How to share the burden of a secret into painful shapes, to redeem her from a hostile fate. Suddenly appear: at a tollbooth, the lonely girl asks a motorist oblivious to accompany her to the mystery. The wait in an airport is closed by verses of a Russian poet, from an unknown elusive parking. AND, suddenly, These women disappear: from a humanitarian mission clinic, the last place they were seen a voluntary doctor and his companion Colombian girl, in risky challenge to injustices and prevarications. The male characters are looking for, to chase: an impression, a suspect, a curiosity that drives them beyond the limits of predictable, Sometimes the lawful. And the collection is completed with a genuine bildungsroman in miniature, set in metaphysical spaces of the Murgia.
“Things do not exist if we don't have the words to call them.”

The female role, all finesse and sensitivity, is required by Jia Zhang-ke fetish actress while supporting roles are entrusted to actors who speak the Venetian dialect. Shooting in lights and natural scenery accentuates the realism of the subject. Yet Io sono Li (original title of the film) is also full of poetry and emotion, avoiding becoming the simple testimony of a transforming world.

Bartolomeo Vanzetti

SACCOEVANZ
Directed 1971 by the Italian Giuliano Montaldo, Sacco and Vanzetti, part of these unforgettable films of the history of the cinema, tracing the tragic fate of two Italian anarchists sentenced to death because of their political beliefs with accuracy and humanism. The filmmaker relies for this on a bright scenario, describing in great detail the various trials, and on an atypical staging, combining multiple flashbacks and original archives – newspaper clippings, era news. It is less to Montaldo to the quest for the truth than to denounce the incredible undertaking demonisation of two men considered to be 'different' in an America increasingly conservative and hostile towards foreigners. The genius of this film is largely due to his masterful interpretation : Riccardo Cucciolla campe a Sacco resigned and quickly overtaken by events – Best award at the Festival de Cannes from 1971 – and Gian Maria volonté (For a fistful of dollars, Investigation of a citizen above suspicion) a combative and integrated Vanzetti to the end in his ideas.
Sacco and Vanzetti is a tremendous indictment against xenophobia and for justice and freedom, known worldwide thanks to the extraordinary his signed band Ennio Morricone and Joan Baez, and the song "Here's to You..
A cinema in its splendid restored version finally visible masterpiece !
"Here for you"., Nicola and Bart
Rest for always in our hearts
The last and final moment is yours
This agony is your triumph. Joan Baez, Here's to You
(lyrics : Joan BAEZ, music : Ennio MORRICONE) This music will be proposed at the symposium which will be held on Saturday at the Hotel de France by Grégory Daltin.
